'THE POST' STILL RESONATES

Oscar winning director Stephen Spielberg sees all kinds of parallels between his new movie “The Post” and what’s going on with the current Trump Republican Administration in the United States.
“The Post” tells the tale of the “Pentagon Papers” and how the Washington Post raced to catch up with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. presidents.
The 71-year old film maker says the Post story hits home because in this day and age, everything that doesn’t flatter the Trump Administration is labelled as fake news and alternate “facts” are being presented as the truth.

The man who leaked the Pentagon Papers, Daniel Ellsberg, was charged under the Espionage Act with theft and conspiracy, charges that were ultimately dismissed.
