It would appear the Edwing era is over in Toronto.
The Jays free agent slugger is flying to Cleveland on a three year $60-million deal which is virtually what the Blue Jays offered the slugger to stay. When that was turned down and Encarnacion headed to free agency, the offer was downgraded to with a one-year $17.2 million qualifying deal at the free agency deadline. As a result, the Jays get a draft pick from the Indians.
The deal is contingent on Encarnacion passing a physical after the holidays.
