The doctor who first diagnosed chronic traumatic encephalopathy is writing a book. Zondervan publishers is paying Dr. Bennet Omalu a six figure sum for his memoir, the working title of which is “The Truth Doesn’t Have A Side”

Portrayed by Will Smith in the movie “Concussion”, Dr. Omalu ran into trouble with the NFL after he diagnosed the condition in a football player on whom he was performing an autopsy. Despite the league’s vehement dispute over his research, CTE has turned up in the brains of dozens of former players.
