Toronto’s dog owners are being encouraged to keep their four-legged friends on a leash – at all times.

That’s unless you’re at one of the city’s 57 designated leash-free parks.

Last year, bylaw enforcement officers undertook a public education and enforcement blitz in July.

This year, officers will focus on city-wide enforcement.

Last year, they laid 161 charges for dogs running off-leash.

This year, so far, 39 charges have been laid.

The fine is 360-dollars.
