Many Zoomers know what it’s like to have catarct surgery, and the improvement it makes in their vision when the lenses of their eyes are removed and replaced with tiny custom-made, synthetic lenses.

But in New Hampshire there’s a falcon that’s undergone the same procedure. 

Four year-old Banner hasn’t been able to fly or hunt since losing her sight over a year ago, so a veterinary emergency service in Concord, New Hampshire performed cataract surgery on the big bird.

She has limited vision due to a wrinkle in one of the tiny replacement lenses, but her owners say she’s now able to see well enough that she can live outside.
