Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has been subpoenaed to testify in the extortion case of his former friend, Sandro Lisi. Lisi is charged with extortion in connection to his alleged attempts to find the notorious video that showed the mayor smoking crack cocaine. Ford’s lawyer confirms police served his client with a subpoena last week. Word of the crack video sparked a firestorm of scandal for the mayor, who went into rehab earlier this year. His brother, Councillor Doug Ford, was forced to apologize after he accused Police Chief Bill Blair of leaking news of the subpoena. Ford has refused to talk to police about the ongoing Project Brazen 2 investigation. Lisi’s preliminary hearing is expected to start in March of next year.
