It will likely be August before Ontario Progressive Conservatives decide how to proceed with replacing former Leader Tim Hudak. Top Tory brass met over the weekend and decided to form a committee to report on a date for holding a leadership convention. Opinions differ within party ranks over whether the they should choose their next leader by January or February, or wait a year or more while continuing the rebuilding process. Hudak resigned after a poor showing in the recent provincial election. His Deputy leader, Whitby – Oshawa MPP Christine Elliot is the only declared candidate so far. Last week, Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson was chosen by the Conservative Caucus to serve as interim leader.
