Hungarian Jewish leaders have found more than one hundred Torah scrolls that were taken from Hungary during the Holocaust. The sacred texts were discovered in western Russia in the manuscript section of the Lenin State Regional Library in the city of Nizhny Novgorad. A rabbi from an orthodox Jewish community says negotiations are underway with Russian officials to restore the scrolls and possibly display them in international exhibits. Some 550-thousnad Hungarian Jews were killed in the Nazi Holocaust during the Second World War and there are approximately 100-thousand Jews living in Hungary today.
