Mayor Rob Ford has lost the support of a key ally on city council. Deputy Mayor, Norm Kelly says he will support a motion to remove some of the mayor’s executive council powers. Two thirds of council must vote to strip the mayor of his executive powers. Earlier today a policy advisor in Mayor Rob Ford’s office since 2011 resigned. Brooks Barnett was with the mayor last year on Saint Patrick’s Day when Rob Ford admitted he was drunk. Barnett has not spoken publicly about why he’s leaving. Meanwhile a judge is expected to decide early next week if remaining parts of a document that revealed Ford’s ties and covert meetings with an alleged drug dealer can be released.
