The Prime Minister of Libya has appeared in public for the first time since his release this morning. Ali Zidan was abducted by gunmen from his hotel overnight. Zidan was shown on Libyan TV arriving at his Cabinet office and is expected to address the nation later today to explain what had happened. The armed abduction was in apparent retaliation for a US special forces raid on the weekend that results in the seizure of an al-Qaida suspect from the streets of Tripoli. Zidan was abducted dawn from the hotel where he resides in Tripoli.
