Christmas 2020 will be a more muted celebration than ever before in our lifetime, thanks to the pandemic and physical-distancing. But within the necessary restraints we can still enjoy this special time – and music continues to be a big part of what makes us feel good.
Christmas music is so special – and in my opinion – it stays special, by being heard only so close to the big day. This is the Sunday before Christmas and my theme this year is ‘Christmas Music Superstars’. The seasonal classics by Sinatra, Crosby, Streisand and Mathis; by Elvis and Buble, Springsteen, Bryan Adams and John McDermott too.
I’m even turning the first hour’s feature: ‘This Week in Zoomer Music‘ into an all-Christmas affair, noting anniversaries of events during this pre-Christmas week in years past, involving such personalities as Glenn Miller and Bobby Darin, The Carpenters and Jackson Five, The Elvis Estate and the Beatles – featuring the first of The Fab Four’s Christmas records to their fan club.
I hope you’ll join me for some great songs, and fascinating information this Sunday at 1:00pm. Cheers!
