TOPIC – Stroke
INFO – A stroke is a brain attack, wherein part of the brain does not get the nutrients it requires to live. In a completed stroke an area of brain dies, along with the functions it controls. In a “mini-stroke”, also known as a TIA, the symptoms last less than 24 hours. These have to be taken very seriously as they are warnings that a full/completed stroke could come. Strokes can have devastating results including paralysis, inability to speak, and eat. We will discuss what can be done to treat a stroke and TIA, as well as how to decrease the risk of having one.
