GUEST – Robert Hinde
TOPIC – Ministry of Health is delisting “physiotherapy services” in long term care facilities.
“They are proposing to donate money to seniors homes in place of providing ongoing kinesiology support. This will limit seniors kin support to 5 visits per year IF they qualify. This is a huge step backward for seniors care. At 59 I am on the cusp of needing these services myself and I am very concerned that the government would shortchange our seniors.” – Robert Hinde
Robert and his daughter Theresa Hinde are circulating petitions and encouraging people to contact their MPPs.
GUEST – Andy Barrie
TOPIC – Living with Parkinson’s & Dancing with Parkinson’s event
INFO –““So many of us are aging into a time when we’re going to get something, medically, that we’re not going to get better from.
In my case, as I’m sure you know, it’s Parkinson’s. PD is both chronic, which means it’s not going to get better, and progressive, which means it’s going to get worse.
As difficult as these various afflictions can be physically, they also exact a huge toll as we learn to live with a different sense of ourselves and what we’re capable of.
Andy is also Chair of an Organization called Dancing with Parkinson’s
GUEST- Kevin Donovan, Toronto Star
