TOPIC – Non-Emergency Ambulance Transportation. A primer on who and what AmbuTrans is and what to expect.
INFO – AmbuTrans is a non-emergency ambulance transportation service. We provide an alternative to the use of EMS (Emergency Medical Services) vehicles for the transport of clients who require transportation by stretcher with an accompanying Medical Attendant but are not in an emergency medical situation. The majority of our client base consists of hospital patients and long term care residents who require transportation to attend medical appointments, clinic visits or day procedures. We also provide service for those receiving care in the home who require transportation for medical reasons. Service is also available to allow clients to attend social and family gatherings.
We are private, Canadian company and our services are not covered by OHIP. For the most part, the cost of AmbuTrans services is paid by the patients hospital or long term care centre. Veterans Affairs, WSIB and many insurance companies also cover the cost of our services. Where no funding organization exists, the client is responsible for the cost of the service.
Non-Emergency Ambulance Transportation-
AmbuTrans provides non-emergency medical transportation for clients who require transportation by stretcher and continuous accompaniment by qualified Medical Care Attendants, particularly for those whose medical status does not meet Ontario Ministry of Health criteria for the use of an EMS Ambulance.
We provide reliable, safe and on-time service to and from hospitals, long term care centres, retirement homes, rehabilitation centres, Doctor’s offices, psychiatric facilities and private residences. AmbuTrans services are also available for special events such as weddings, funerals, family functions, religious services or home visits.
Our large fleet of non-emergency ambulance transportation vehicles are fully equipped with portable and fixed oxygen delivery systems, suction units, stair chairs, 120 volt power outlets, trauma, airway management and resuscitation equipment and patient assessment gear.
All AmbuTrans vehicles are climate controlled and provide ample seating for medical escorts and family members.
