INFO – Stroke — A stroke is when an area of the brain does not receive adequate blood supply, resulting in dysfunction and eventual death of that area of the brain. Symptoms include weakness and numbness, inability to speak, confusion, and visual disturbances. Stroke is very common, affecting millions of people every year, and is a common cause of disability and death worldwide. Researchers have made progress in the prevention and treatment of stroke so that more people who suffer from a stroke can return to a normal life. We will discuss how to prevent stroke, and how stroke is diagnosed and treated.
