TOPIC – IBC and Crime Stoppers join forces to combat insurance fraud.
INFO – Consumers in Ontario can play a major role in helping to combat the serious problem of insurance fraud in the province (estimated to be upwards of $1.6 billion) – and they can do it anonymously.
Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) and the Ontario Association of Crime Stoppers announced today that they have joined forces to work together to fight insurance fraud and, as such, are urging people who suspect fraud to report the crime. Crime Stoppers guarantees anonymity and the person doesn’t have to appear in court as a witness.
The partnership with Crime Stoppers is another step in IBC’s efforts to fight insurance fraud in Ontario – it already works with law enforcement, insurance companies and government to investigate the criminals and raise awareness of this huge problem.
