INFO – Major-General (Ret’d) Richard Heath Rohmer, OC, CMM, DFC, O.Ont, KStJ, CD, QC (born in 1924). Canada’s most decorated citizen, an aviator, a senior lawyer (aviation law), adviser to business leaders and the Government of Ontario and is a prolific writer. Rohmer was born in Hamilton, Ontario, and spent some of his early youth in Pasadena, California as well as in western Ontario at Windsor and Fort Erie.

TOPIC – The Flu & Zoomers

INFO – Flu — The flu, or influenza, is a very common infection caused by a virus. Each year there are 3 to 5 million cases of severe illness and about 250,000 to 500,000 yearly deaths, rising to millions in some pandemic years The incidence of this infection is highest in the months between November and March. The most common symptoms are chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, headache (often severe), coughing, weakness/fatigue and general discomfort. In most people the flu will go away without treatment, but in some people it requires hospitalization.

We will discuss how the flu is prevented and treated, how to determine your risk of catching the flu and of serious consequences, and when you need to go to the doctor.
