TOPIC – Cameras in nursing homes.
INFO – ” Deb Matthews announcement to discontinue annual inspections in nursing homes makes the issue of cameras in nursing homes most urgent.
She has said they will only do annual inspections in homes where there are complaints. Many residents in these homes cannot speak for themselves and do not have families to speak for them.
We are moving backwards instead of improving this situation.” – Betty Miller, Founder & President, Guardian Angels Program
Guardian Angels Program – Mission – “To advocate improved care for residents in Ontario’s long-term care homes to ensure that residents are provided with consistent and quality medical care, psychological and physical therapy support.”
The Guardian Angels Program (GAP) is a not-for-profit organization with charitable objectives. We are a provincial watchdog organization of Ontario Nursing Homes and respond to concerns over the treatment of loved ones residing in Ontario Nursing Homes. We also offer support to individuals whose family members already reside in a nursing home, or those whose family members are considering entering a facility, or isolated and alone in the community.
