COVID-19 TESTING IN PHARMACIES AND LONG TERM CARE – SEPTEMBER 24 2020

Libby Znaimer is joined by John Papastergiou, a pharmacist with Shoppers Drug Mart; Dean Miller, a pharmacist with Whole Health Pharmacy; Dr. Jillian Kohler, a professor at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto; and Lisa Levin, CEO of AdvantAge Ontario.

In the news this week: Ontario Premier Doug Ford has announced that COVID-19 testing will be administered at a number of pharmacies-upwards of 60-across the province starting this Friday. This development coincides with the $70-million dollar flu-shot campaign in Ontario and, this year, high-dose flu shots will also be available at pharmacies. Libby and our pharmacy experts discuss what this all means for Ontarians. Later, they discuss COVID-19 testing procedures in long-term care homes and the steps that need to be taken to prepare and protect residents as we grapple with a second wave.
