Libby Znaimer is joined by Toronto Mayor John Tory, Sergeant Kerry Schmidt of the OPP’s Highway Safety Division, and Mark Richardson, automotive journalist with the Globe and Mail and President of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada.

This morning, the Mayor was at Oakridge Junior Public School in Scarborough to discuss Vision Zero safety initiatives for students in school zones.

One of those initiatives is to install 50 photo radar cameras in school zones by December.

This year, the city will also have about 704 locations with crossing guards.

Also, in mid-September, the province of Ontario will be increasing highway speed limits to 110 km/hr on sections of three 400-series highways. It is a pilot project that could lead to the implementation of the highway speed increase province-wide.
