How do we stop online extremism? Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in Paris attending the Christchurch Call meeting convened by New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who is co-chairing with French President Emmanuel Macron. It is expected to cite the massacre of 51 Muslim worshipers in two New Zealand mosques in March as part of the push for a sweeping agreement to combat terrorist content disseminated on social media. Here at home just this week, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice awarded $2.5 million in damages to Mohammed Fakih the owner of the Paramount chain of Middle Eastern restaurants for defamation over a series of videos and online posts made by Kevin Johnston, some on his website Freedom Report, starting in July 2017.
