Student walk outs from classes are taking place across the province today to protest the Ford Tories’ approach to curriculum, funding and class sizes. The protests are being stitched together by the same student advocacy group behind several recent protests, including the Sept. 2018, sex-ed curriculum demonstration that had some 40,000 students from 70 schools walking out of classes across Ontario, according to March for Our Education, the student organizing body. But, students aren’t the only group who are protesting today, Ontario Health Care Providers are calling for a reversal of cuts to supervised injection sites. Health care providers will also rally today at noon outside Queens Park, and deliver a petition signed by over 1200 healthcare providers in just 3 days. Libby will be speaking with Councillor Paula Fletcher and political strategists Kim Wright and Shakir Chambers to get their take on whether or not it’s beginning to feel like the Province is going back in time to the Mike Harris era.
