The TTC says 67 of 89 streetcars produced by Bombardier will be sent back to the company because of a welding problem. They assure us that the defective streetcars pose no threat to safety, and will be returned to Bombardier three or four at a time to minimize the impact on transit. Apparently dealing with this now is a bid to avoid requiring the repairs when the cars are out of warranty. Despite these assurances, many taxpayers are fed up with bombardier. Counc.
