It’s been two years since Toronto introduced “Vision Zero”, an initiative to reduce deaths on Toronto’s roads to zero by the year 2021. Since Toronto introduced “Vision Zero”, the city is on pace for its deadliest year for pedestrians and cyclists. Liz Sutherland, Director of Advocacy and Government Relations for Cycle Toronto and Jessica Spieker, a road safety advocate with Friends and Families for Safe Streets spoke with Libby Znaimer about why the number of deaths on our roads continues to climb.
