Ontario’s Auditor General says the Wynne government’s statements on the province’s finances understate its deficit by billions. In the released pre-election report, Bonnie Lysyk also says the government has not accurately reflected the true cost of ITS borrowing plan to cut hydro rates by 25 percent, and that raises questions about its accounting practices. As a result, the auditor general says the government’s deficit projections are off by 75 per cent in 2018-2019 and will be 11.7-billion-dollars NOT the 6.7-billion the Liberals forecast. Libby speaks with Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford, NDP Finance Critic, MPP John Vanthof and Minister Eleanor McMahon, President of Treasury Board about the huge discrepancy.
