Caring for seniors appears to be a priority for all three parties as we inch closer to a provincial election. The government saysnext Tuesday’s budget will offer significant investments in hospitals and home care. PSW’s, or personal support workers, provide up to 80 percent of the care for Ontario seniors and today, some members held a news conference at Queens Park to outline ongoing concerns about working conditions, lack of regulations, and increased funding. Miranda Ferrier is the President and Founder of the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association. While not directly involved in legal action taken against the provincial government by a group of 11-home care providers over plans to create of provincially -run agency of PSW’s, she does support the coalition’s decision to take legal action.
