On the same day the Provincial Transportation Minister outlined broad new measures to keep pedestrians and cyclists safe, an elderly woman was killed after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street near Broadview and Mortimer. The fatality occurred ed last night at about 8 o’clock at mid-block where there are no traffic lights, stop signs or crosswalks. The woman was using a walker. A pickup truck was the vehicle involved.
