It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for our crack strategy panel. We had a major announcement affecting our older demographic this morning. For weeks now, people have been complaining that seniors were left off of the very long list of groups that have received emergency aid from Ottawa. Today, Minister of Seniors Deb Schulte announced a one-time tax free payment of $300 for everyone who is eligible for OAS, and an additional $200 for those who also get GIS. There was lots of criticism saying this won’t solve the problem for more than a month or so. And, the Premier had another “do as I say, not as I do” moment yesterday when he shared details of his family’s Mother’s Day celebration that involved visits from his two daughters.
