According to Canada’s Food Price Report, Canadians can expect to see food prices rise by 2 to 4% in the year 2020.
The report, produced by researchers from Dalhousie University and the University of Guelph, forecasts meat, for example, to go up by 4 to 6% in 2020. This comes at a time when the number of Canadians showing interest in plant-based protein food options is increasing.
Researchers are saying that some of the influencing factors of this trend include the effects of climate change, global instability and more. Together, Libby and Simon discuss other foods that Canadians might see going up in price and other potential reasons for this trend.
