This year, 51 people have tragically lost their lives on the roads. Of this number, 31 of them have been pedestrians.

Pedestrian Safety advocates have been pressuring Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders to do something to prevent further pedestrian carnage on the roads. Now, he is proposing a new Vision Zero enforcement unit that will see increased crackdowns on drivers in the city’s deadliest traffic areas. Superintendent Baptist who is District Commander of Traffic Services / Parking Enforcement at the Toronto Police, explains what this plan would look like and more.
