There is more fallout from the apology and legal settlement between the federal government and Omar Khadr. Tabitha Speer’s lawyer has motioned for a freeze on Omar Khadr’s bank accounts after he was awarded $10.5 M in compensation for being detained and interrogated at Guantanamo Bay. Speer’s husband Christopher was killed in a firefight with Omar Khadr and others in Afghanistan in 2002. There is also a new study out from Angus Reid saying that more than 70% of Canadians think the federal government shouldn’t have settled out of court with Omar Khadr. Mike Van Soelen from Navigator Ltd., and former deputy chief of staff and legal advisor to Conservative prime minister Stephen Harper Howard Anglin join Libby to talk about it.
