As of today – a ban on assisted dying has been lifted. There is no law as of yet but according to the Supreme Court of Canada, physicians are now permitted to help the terminally ill end their lives. But without rules, will doctors step forward to provide the service? What is being recommended to them by their regulatory colleges? Or are they expecting to be inundated with requests for medically assisted death? Dr. Gary Rodin, the Chair of Palliative Care at the University Health Network joined us to discuss the news.
