Hello everybody! Lily Frost here…
I am so excited to launch my new radio show ZOOMER CROONERS AND SONGBIRDS on Zoomer Radio on March 25th at 6pm. I will focus in each week on different underground scenes, subcultures and the artists who create these fabulous genres which contribute to great sound of music we hear today. I will zoom in to magnify movements like garage rock, rockabilly, surf, skiffle, mod, psychedelia and more more more…
The first edition will focus in on Space Age Bachelor Pad Music which was innovated by American and Mexican composers from the 50s and 60s during the dawn of space travel.
This music was inspired by Ravel, Debussy, sexy, exotic rhythms and other worldly sounds like theremin, saw and farfisa organs.
The two main leaders of the movement were Juan Garcia Esquivel and Martin Denny.
The music has charm and humour of a swinging bachelor and the art and promo aesthetics are often of moonscapes and planets intermingled amongst Jetsons style furniture
On my weekly radio show I will explore the women and men who innovated each subculture and the subsequent revivalists. I will share stories and fun facts and lots of amazing sounds and songs with you all.
Please join me every Sunday at 6pm on AM 740 on this awesome journey!!
