Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre a vile message he received by a known far-right activist, Jeremy MacKenzie, who threatened to assault his wife. He has since released a statement saying that the messages in question were brought to the RCMP to investigate. Meanwhile, our panel weighs in on Ottawa’s national dental coverage plan for low income families. Finally, PM Justin Trudeau left it up to his cabinet ministers to announce the end of COVID-19 restrictions at the border and the termination of  the ArriveCAN app by October 1st.

FAMILY DOCTORS ARE LEAVING THE PROFESSION AMID THE PANDEMIC: STUDY

Jane Brown is joined, first, by Dr. Tara Kiran, a family doctor and researcher at St. Michael’s Hospital, followed by Dr. Nadia Alam, a family doctor and anesthetist in Georgetown Ontario and Dr. Nili Kaplan-Myrth, an Ottawa-based family physician and a medical anthropologist who writes about health policy and politics.

A new study by Unity Health Toronto reveals that more family doctors are leaving the profession amid the pandemic–approximately 3 per cent (or 385 of them) stopped practicing between March and September of 2020. Our physician guests weigh in on the concerning trend.
