Today: We’re in the final days of the Ontario election campaign. The Progressive Conservatives are projected to win a majority.  A poll provided by the Toronto Star suggests that Liberal leader Steven Del Duca is at risk of losing in his riding of Vaughan-Woodbridge to the PCs Michael Tibollo. And, what does NDP leader Andrea Horwath’s political future look like after the election? Meanwhile, in Ottawa, the Trudeau government has tabled new gun control legislation that would see a national freeze on buying, selling and importing handguns.

CONTINUED DELAYS AT THE AIRPORT AND NEXUS BACKLOG

The delays at Pearson airport are ongoing and, as we know, it has been because of staffing shortages, COVID-19 protocols, security screening and flight cancellations and changes. We are learning that Ottawa is now taking steps to address the issue with Transport Canada creating an outbound screening committee. But, is it too little too late? And, the Public Health Agency of Canada is extending COVID-19 measures at the border until at least June 30th. And, nearly 300,000 Canadians are facing a Nexus backlog. How much of an impact is this having on traveler traffic at the airport?
