In the news: The House of Commons voted down a motion by Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre that took aim at the Trudeau government’s harm reduction strategy in a vote of 209 to 113 on Monday. Meanwhile Jagmeet Singh, leader of the federal NDP, has called on Ottawa to get rid of David Johnston from overseeing foreign election interference and along with the Conservatives, is calling for a public inquiry into the matter.

Hospitals in rural Ontario are bracing for ER staffing shortages this Summer. Back in 2022, we all remember how these staff shortages led to full ER department closures for hours and sometimes days. Meanwhile, residents of Minden continue to express their concerns over the upcoming closure of their local hospital ER. Natalie weighs in on the latest.
CAA’S LATEST WORST ROADS REPORT REPORT

The CAA’s latest Worst Roads in Ontario report is officially out and the four Toronto roads to make the list include: Eglinton West, Finch Avenue West, Steeles Avenue East, and Lakeshore Boulevard East. The top ten list also included roads in Hamilton, Ottawa and Orillia, and Mississauga. Teresa Di Felice discusses why pot holes are so damaging to our cars and what cities can do to mitigate the problem.
