Today: We begin with the news that Bonnie Crombie, the mayor of Mississauga, is exploring a run for the leadership of the Ontario Liberals. And, of course there’s the news about Peel Region–Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga will be splitting up by 2025. We then pivot to Ottawa where former Governor General David Johnston, Special rapporteur, concluded that there is no need for a public inquiry into alleged foreign interference in our political system by China.

Mayor Brown weighs in on the future of Peel Region which is set to dissolve by 2025. Brown is concerned about the associated costs of such a breakup. Meanwhile, he and Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie want to keep Peel Police Service in existence but they disagree about how it should be funded.
