Libby Znaimer is joined by Marissa Lennox, Producer and host of theZoomer and former Chief Policy Officer of CARP, Morgan Hoffarth, President of the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO), and John Wright Executive Vice President of Maru Public Opinion.
Last Friday, we learned that Rod Phillips, Ontario’s Minister of Long-Term Care and MPP for Ajax, would be resigning at the end of next month and not seeking re-election in the next provincial election cycle.
And, Marissa details the COVID-19 testing nightmare she faced after coming home from Turks and Caicos last week and she still doesn’t even have the results of her test back yet! Canada’s own Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Theresa Tam, said that the policy will be evaluated over time and that “It is a capacity drain on the system as a whole.”
Libby Znaimer is joined by Toronto City Councilors Gary Crawford (Ward 20, Scarborough SouthWest) and Chair of the City’s Budget Committee alongside Councilor Shelley Carroll (Ward 17 Don Valley North) who is also a member of the City’s budget committee and Brad Bradford (Ward 19 Beaches-East York).
Toronto’s proposed budget for 2022 includes a property tax increase that would be the largest of any under Mayor Tory’s leadership and it means you could be paying an additional extra $141 in 2022. Last Friday, on Free For All, we heard from listeners complaining about this proposed increase. Our councilors explain the rationale behind it. Hint: it has a lot to do with the current rate of inflation.
Libby Znaimer is joined by Ontario Liberal Party leader, Steven Del Duca.
Opposition leader Steven Del Duca joins Fight Back to weigh in on Minister Rod Phillips’ departure. In a statement on Twitter, Del Duca said that Phillips’ leaving “while more than half of nursing homes have outbreaks, is a total abdication of leadership and a sign of pure chaos in Ford’s Conservative Party.”
