Libby Znaimer is joined by Elliott Silverstein, Director of Government Relations with CAA Insurance and Detective Rommel Dimatulac with the York Regional Police Auto/cargo Theft Unit and Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau.

According to new insurance data, car thefts are on the rise in Toronto and the GTA. This past year, Toronto saw as many as 6,000 car thefts. Libby and guests discuss the most targeted types of cars and what you can do to help prevent break-ins and thefts that are often at the hand of organized crime networks.

THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY AND REGULAR CANCER SCREENING

Libby Znaimer is joined by Toronto City Councilor Jaye Robinson (Ward 15 Don Valley West), Dr. Eileen Rakovitch, Radiation oncologist and head of our breast site group at Sunnybrook and Dr. Martin Yaffe, Breast Cancer researcher at Sunnybrook Research Institute, and The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research.

In the news: this week, Toronto Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Eileen de Villa, announced that she would be taking a leave of absence after she undertook a routine screening mammogram whereby pre-cancerous cells were identified. She is undergoing surgery for it today. This is what she had to say about it: “My story is not unique. Women throughout Toronto receive news like this every day. My message to Torontonians is simply this: please do take the time to participate in screening programs, as recommended. I am grateful that I took the time to get screened as it has allowed me to have early detection and treatment.” Toronto City Councilor Jaye Robinson shares her story of fighting breast cancer and the doctors detail the importance of early and regular screening appointments even during COVID-19 which has been known to cause a backlog in medical appointments across the spectrum.
