On August 22nd, 1938, rockabilly singer/guitarist Dale Hawkins was born.
Louisiana guitarist Dale Hawkins’ 1957 hit “Suzy Q,” was one of the most exciting early rockabilly singles. The song would only go on to reach No.27 on the US singles chart in 1957, but has been covered endless times by many bands including The Rolling Stones, The Everly Brothers and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
