On April 25th, 1979 The Police made their debut on BBC TV’s ‘Top Of The Pops’ performing ‘Roxanne’. The single which was taken from their album Outlandos d’Amour was written from the point-of-view of a man who falls in love with a prostitute.
It is one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
