On this day in 1941, Joe Terranova of Danny & the Juniors fame is born. They are well known for their 1958 US #1 and UK #3 hit single ‘At The Hop.’ Terranova, born Joseph Terranova in Philadelphia, was the baritone/bass vocalist.

The song was also commercially used in the early ’80s for the Canadian National Exhibition, changing the words to “Let’s go to the Ex.”
