On December 11, 1961 The Marvelettes>/strong> soared to No.1 on the US singles chart with their single Please Mr.Postman. Featured musicians on the track included Marvin Gaye on the drums (he was just 22 years old).
This song went on to become a No.1 hit for The Carpenters in 1975.
