On October 22nd, 1966 The Beach Boys‘ single Good Vibrations made its debut on the US singles chart. This song was written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love and was recorded over the course of six weeks at four different Los Angeles studios, costing over $16,000.

The recording engineer later said that the group’s last take sounded exactly like the first take, which they had recorded six months earlier!
