On May 24, 1968 The Rolling Stones released their single Jumpin’ Jack Flash. This was their seventh UK No.1 hit.

Keith Richards says he and Mick Jagger wrote the lyrics while staying ay Richards’ country home. They were awoken one morning by the sound of the gardener, Jack Dyer walking past the window. When Jagger asked what the noise was, Richards said “Oh, that’s Jack – that’s jumpin’ Jack” and that’s how they came up with the title for the song.
