On May 23, 1964 Ella Fitzgerald became the first artist to have a hit with a cover of a popular song by The Beatles. Her cover of Can’t Buy Me Love entered the UK chart in May of 1964 after being released by the Beatles several months earlier on their sixth album.
Can’t Buy Me Love has been covered by over 20 artists since its original release.
