On July 10, 1965 Mick Jagger and Keith Richards worked on the opening riff of Satisfaction. They worked on this song in a hotel room in Florida after Richard purchased a Gibson fuzz-box earlier that day. Two months later The Rolling Stones started a 4-week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with Satisfaction.

In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine put the song Satisfaction in the second spot on its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
