Buddy HollyThe Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens, died in a crash shortly after take-off from Clear Lake, Iowa. All on board, including the pilot of the single engine plane were killed. This incident is often referred to as The Day The Music Died, a term used by Don McLean in his song ‘American Pie.’
