Richard Wayne Penniman, better known as Little Richard was born in Macon, Georgia. Little Richard had his first commercial success with “Tutti Frutti” that went to #2 on Billboard’s R&B charts.

“I’d Been Singing “Tutti Frutti” For years, but it never struck me as a song you’d record. Sure, it used to crack the crowds up when I sang it in the clubs, with those risque lyrics: “Turri Frutti, good booty/If it don’t fit, don’t force it/You can grease it make it easy…. But I never thought it would be a hit, even with they lyrics cleaned up.”
