The Finance Minister has landed.

Rod Phillips touched down at Pearson this morning at the urging of Premier Doug Ford after news of Phillips’ trip to St. Bart’s was made public.

When asked by CP24 if he was going to resign, Phillips implied he wants to carry on.

“I understand that my actions have angered a lot of people and I have to earn back that confidence,” said Phillips. “I think that there is very important work that’s still to be done and I’d like to continue to be a part of that.”

Ford said yesterday that he’ll be having a difficult conversation with Phillips upon his return.

Phillips says pictures of him around the Ajax community and a fireside holiday greeting posted while he was away were not meant to deceive the public.
